Since 1982 WEHRLE Umwelt (WEHRLE Environmental) consults, engineers and builds plants for the treatment of landfill leachate and industrial effluents. WEHRLE also offers related services like plant operation, plant efficiency optimisation and upgrades of existing plants for better performance or to achieve a higher outlet quality. Beyond the effluent treatment to indirect or direct discharge limits or process water recycling, WEHRLE offers systems for biogas generation, sludge reduction and the recovery of heat energy and nutrients from the effluent. The range of technologies incorporated by WEHRLE stand for space saving, easy-to-operate, reliable and lifecycle treatment plants with lowest possible operation costs. With 300 references on 5 continents, WEHRLE is a leading supplier for waste derived liquids and industrial effluent treatment.
Interview with Ms. Dragana Radanov, Sales and Project Engineer for Central Europe, WEHRLE Umwelt GmbH
Tell us more about WEHRLE Umwelt GmbH and your activity in the SEE Region. Which other companies from the group of WEHRLE will you present at the exhibition in Sofia?
WEHRLE is active in the whole SEE region since a decade. The first and the largest treatment plant for leachate in Slovenia is our
BIOMEMBRAT® High-Performance Membrane BioReactor (MBR). This plant is in operation since 2010 with excellent performance and low operation costs. Since 2016, this plant is also treating effluent from an MBT plant a fine example of this future prove and flexible technology.
But WEHRLE is not only supplying large units: Direct RO leachate treatment plants have been installed in Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania including fully automated cleaning procedures. The plants are designed as turnkey containerised plant in order to ensure cost effective installation on site and a quick start up.
In 2018 the first Serbian municipal waste landfill is getting such a containerised WEHRLE RO unit for treating landfill leachate for direct discharge into a nearby river. We equipped this unit also with remote access to support the local staff in case of operational questions.
WEHRLE is focussing on advanced treatment technologies for highly polluted wastewaters, but we also keep our eyes open for our other solutions for MBT applications or waste-to-energy plants for hazardous waste.
What will be the accent of your participation and what are the benefits for your clients using WEHRLE Umwelt solutions in the sectors: Landfills, Medical and Haz-ardous waste treatment and disposal, Waste-to-Energy etc.
WEHRLE has a reputation for being a reliable and experienced plant constructor for the treatment of waste derived liquids. We also offer ours client corresponding services such as piloting, efficiency optimisation and retrofit of existing plants. The first leachate treatment plants were built in 1991 and have been in operation ever since. This is not only proof of excellent technology but also for sustainable efficiency with stable, predictable, low operation costs. Thanks to the incomparable application knowhow gained over the years, we consult landfill operators and also construct and operate leachate treatment plants. WEHRLE is dedicated to the company’s history: As an over 150 years old, family owned company, reliability, longevity and openness with clients and partners are our top priorities.
WEHRLE Umwelt GmbH will be part of the Conference panel which will take place on 28th of March. What will you point out during your presentation and who do you want to invite to attend your session?
It is well known that handling of municipal solid waste (MSW) produces liquids with high pollutions. The so called “waste derived liquids” occurs from transport of waste, dewatering from waste bunkers, mechanical biological technologies for waste treatment, pretreated digestate, washing procedures of biogas or new and operated or old and dormant landfills. During our presentation we will introduce different process combinations using “elimination” and/or “separation” technologies for successful and economical treatment of waste derived liquids.
We gladly invite everybody that is interested in this topic and wants to hear about our experience and concepts for advanced treatment of highly polluted wastewaters from waste. Come and meet us, let’s talk about your situation on site and share knowhow.
