Waste utilization and energy efficiency - solutions for farmers, manufacturing enterprises in industry and municipal structures.- Balkanika Energy

Interview with Ms. Aglika Pavlova, CEO of “Balkanika Energy”. Miss Pavlova, please present your company briefly.

"Balkanika Energy" PLC is a Bulgarian private company, which for more than 12 years deals with the implementation of projects in the field of waste treatment and utilization, energy efficiency and construction of factories. Our company specializes in the treatment and utilization of biodegradable waste, ie construction of biogas installations, composting plants, modular systems for stabilization of organic fraction, etc.

Your practices are the best worldwide. With which foreign companies do you partner with?

The aim of our company is not only to implement good technological practices but also to select those that are optimal for the market conditions in Bulgaria. The new global practices are very dynamic, especially in the field of environment-related projects that require a precise selection of reference technologies that we can apply in our country. Balkanica Energy PLC is a partner with leading companies such as Eggersmann Group, BEKON, Schmack - Biogas, for biogas installations and composting plants, as well as Italian companies CAMEC and SCOLARI.

Tell us about a recently completed project of yours and the benefits it brought to your clients.

We managed to realize a wonderful project for a Bulgarian dairy, in which we built a biogas plant with raw manure and silage. At the plant we also used the whey, which is a major problem of such type of enterprises, and part of the produced biogas is directly used for cooking the milk in the plant and the rest of the part by a cogenerator for the production of electric and thermal energy. This is a small example of closing a full cycle and maximizing the use of resources in the factory.

What are you working on right now?

Balkanika Energy PLC has ongoing contracts for the construction of three mechanical and biological treatment plants for mixed municipal waste. In these installations we implement new technological solutions for composting and stabilizing organic sub-fraction, which are very compact and low operating expenses.

What services do you offer to your customers?

Our company performs projects as an EPC contractor - from pre-study and design through all components and service deliveries to commissioning, warranty and after warranty service.

What visitors would you like to see at your booth? From which sectors?

Our clients are farmers, production companies in the light industry and municipal structures.
