Hitachi Zosen Inova is a global leader in energy from waste and will join Save the Planet once again. Please tell us more about HZI solutions and how they ensure clean environment and sustainable waste management?

HZI acts as General Contractor for thermal and biologic energy from waste plants. We deliver complete plants or system solutions for the energy recovery from waste. Our solutions are based on efficient and environmentally sound technology, are thoroughly tested, can be flexibly adapted to user requirements, and cover the entire plant life cycle.

Some of your areas of in-house technology are combustion, anaerobic digestion, flue gas treatment.  Which of your systems will you present in Sofia?

We will represent our complete technology portfolio for thermal and biologic energy recovery from waste. Our incineration plants contain our own first-class technologies for efficient and effective combustion, flue gas treatment and material recovery. They are thoroughly proven and meet all the official requirements and regulation to play an important role in a sustainable and advanced waste management.

HZI’s Kompogas®  anaerobic digestion technology is another important core component for an integrated waste management system by improving both recycling and energy recovery rates. Since the global commitment for renewable energy sources increases continuously, the transformation of bio waste and green waste into biogas, compost and high-class fertilizer becomes more and more important.

Where is your technology implemented and what is your latest project?

With over 700 references worldwide, HZI qualifies as a global leader in the energy from waste sector. The company’s customers range from experienced waste management companies to up-and-coming partners in new markets worldwide. We just recently handed over two EfW plants to clients in England and Poland. Further projects are under construction in England, Scotland and Ireland. In addition, we are building America’s first Kompogas® plant in California.

All attendees from countries that want to move away from landfill and start with the recovery of energy from waste. Countries that would like to improve their carbon footprints by diverting waste from landfill and increasing energy recovery and recycling.
Sectors: municipalities, waste management companies, but also potential partners such as civil construction companies and local m&e contractors.
