Interview with LIFE Programme representatives in connection to their participation in the South-East European event of Waste Management, Environment, Energy Efficiency & Renewables 2018


The  LIFE  programme will participate for the first time with a panel in the 9th edition of the South-East European Conference on Waste Management & Environment 'Save the Planet' on 28 March. Please present in brief the Programme main targets & tools and their opportunities for application in the South-East European (SEE) Region.  

The LIFE programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment and climate action. The general objective of LIFE is to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental and climate policy and legislation by co-financing projects with European added value. Since 1992, the programme has co-financed more than 4500 projects. LIFE can be a useful tool to help the South-East European Region to achieve its   EU commitments and goals on environmental protection and fight against climate change.  

Which are the target recipients of the LIFE-funded projects?  

Any organisation, public or private, legally established in the EU can apply for LIFE funds. 
What will be the highlights and topic content of your participation in the SEE 'Save the Planet' Conference on 28 March?

In the SEE 'Save the Planet' Conference, representatives from LIFE will present the programme's funding opportunities in order to promote it among the stakeholders of the South-East region. Our session is of interest to any actor from the energy and waste sectors interested in accessing LIFE funding.

The Programme will also have a stand at the parallel three-day exhibition on Waste Management, Environment, Energy Efficiency & Renewables on 27 - 29 March. Please let us know what do you intend to present at the exhibition stand.  

The aim of the LIFE stand is two-fold:  
- To publicise the funding opportunities of LIFE
- Provide information on the good practices and solutions developed by LIFE in the sectors of sustainable energy and the circular economy.
