• Bourgas and Blagoevgrad are building anaerobic installations for biodegradable waste
  
  Anaerobic plants for separately collected biodegradable waste will be built in the districts of Bourgas and Blagoevgrad. The municipalities will receive a free European financial aid, with which will cover about 80% of the value of the projects.
  The project, prepared for two years, can be identified as an innovation in the waste utilization.
  The system involves the construction of a composting plant and, subsequently, the construction of a co-generation in which the collected organic gas will produce electricity.
   

• The municipalities of Karlovo, Valchedram and Yakimovo will build waste facilities
  
  The composting installation of the Municipality of Karlovo for separately collected green waste has a capacity of 6500 tonnes per year and will serve nearly 50 thousand inhabitants. The total amount of the investment is over BGN 4.7 million.
  The Operational Program Environment 2014-2020 (OPE) provides a grant of BGN 3.5 million. Valchedram and Yakimovo will jointly build a composting plant for separately collected green and biodegradable waste. The facility has a capacity of 2257 tonnes per year and will serve 12,500 inhabitants.
   

• Petrich municipality starts building a 10 million leva project for municipal waste
   

In Petrich Municipality, a project for the construction of a composting plant and a pre-treatment plant for municipal waste starts. The total value of the project is BGN 10 313 535, of which BGN 6 078 009 are European funding and BGN 3 162 935 are provided by the municipal budget. The aim is to reduce the quantity of the disposed household waste and to increase the share of recycled and recovered waste in the region of Petrich.
