The event focuses on the environmental development of South-East Europe. Conforming to the European waste policy objectives and the higher targets for re-use and recycling till 2030, the Region is definitely making progress in the sector of sustainable waste management. To tackle the air pollution problem, the countries will implement the best practices, measuring and control equipment, raise public awareness and encourage behavioural change for better air quality.

Conference Highlights:

LIFE programme: EU funding for air quality, waste management & recycling and circular ideas
During the LIFE session in the seeSUSTAINtec, several experts in LIFE programme will take the floor, including a delegate from the LIFE National Contact Point in Bulgaria [TBC], Mr. Mihail Bachvarov and Ms. Sylvia Goranova (Neemo LIFE Monitoring Team) and representatives of successful LIFE-funded projects who will share their experience with the programme and the application process. The session intends to provide an overview of the LIFE programme and the funding opportunities it offers. It will include important highlights about the LIFE call 2020 and relevant information about the evaluation process and criteria, the thematic priorities, etc.
Financial instruments to stimulate investment in the waste sector - Fund Manager of Financial Instruments in Bulgaria
A financial product in the field of waste will be launched in 2020 in support of the policies on a national and European level to reduce the volume of landfilled municipal waste, incl. through eco-innovation. Dr. Eng. Dochka Vassileva, Senior Strategic Investments Expert will present the specific details regarding which areas will have funding opportunities.
