Bulgaria welcomes advanced technologies for sustainable energy, cities and waste management

Bulgaria welcomes advanced technologies for sustainable energy,
cities and waste management

‘EE & RE’ (energy efficiency & renewables), ‘Smart Cities’ and ‘Save the Planet’ (waste management and recycling) will be again a platform for product launches and knowledge exchange between local and European key players.

The three exhibitions and conferences are organized by Via Expo from 5 to 7 April in Sofia, Bulgaria. Exhibitors and speakers from 16 countries will take part.

The solutions that will be promoted are environmental friendly and financially rewarding – they are becoming more accessible for the business and municipalities. The aim of the event is to address policy and overcome investment challenges as well as to highlight the progress in the Region.

EXHIBITIONS

EE & RE
Leading companies will display biogas and biomass plants, photovoltaic systems for building integration, energy storage systems and energy saving HVAC equipment, industry cogeneration units, thermal insulation panels, etc. An accent will be electric vehicles and charging stations. Bioenergy stakeholders will be attracted by the laboratory for research and testing of solid biofuels, composted and biodegradable waste.

Smart Cities
The exhibitors will present software and building installations for homes, offices and industrial premises and devices for energy storage. Visiting the event, the investors, architects and engineers will learn more about the process of design and construction of passive houses. For the first time a virtual observatory for energy, environment and climate for municipalities will be promoted. Companies from Italy and Germany will present fleet management tracking devices, wireless solutions for traffic and parking control.

Waste Management & Recycling

South-East Europe is an emerging market according to the participants in Save the Planet. They will showcase technologies for treatment and recycling of plastic, construction, paper, metal and biodegradable waste, electrical and electronic scrap. An eye-catching exhibit will be an identification system for waste disposal and waste collection vehicles. Another highlight will be the improved waste-to-energy solution for the municipal solid waste treatment.

CONFERENCES

A message of Oliver Loebel from PU Europe is that the Balkan countries have to construct future-proof buildings. Dr. Ralph Gambetta of the Calypso Networks Association considers that the conditions for intensive development of the IT sector are favorable. ‘We see that in SE Europe there is still a lot of work. At the same time, huge potential lies beneath.’– says Nadine De Greef from the European Federation of Waste Management and Environmental Services.

Some of the Conference topics: Passive and Green Houses; New Insolation Materials; Renewable District Heating; Geothermal Energy Applications; Architectural Future of the Smart Cities; Intelligent Transport Systems; Construction and Demolition Material Recovery.

‘How to turn bio-waste into resource’ will be a special session for the decision makers in the food, agriculture and woodworking sectors. Speakers from ProPellets, European Biogas Association, Bulgarian Soft Drinks Association, Romanian Association of Biomass and Biogas, etc. will participate.
