CPM Europe – 15 years of experience on the Bulgarian market

In the period of 27 - 29 March in Sofia you will have the chance to meet with CPM Europe - a leading supplier of process equipment and technology for the animal feed, biomass, oilseed industries. CPM Europe has a worldwide reputation as pelleting, grinding, conditioning and flaking solutions specialist. CPM machines ensure continuous operation, high performance and the lowest operating costs. Built to last, designed for the long term.

Interview with Mr. Peter Lange , CPM Europe

Mr. Lange., briefly tell us about your company. When was the company founded and how many years of experience do you have on the Bulgarian market?
CPM-California pellet mills was established in 1883 in California. Initially, it only specialized in pellet mills, but nowadays it’s a very successful manufacturer of the key machinery in pelleting plants, such as hammermills, conditioning equipment, pellet mills, coolers and sifters.
After opening a factory in the Netherlands in the 60’s, CPM has taken the lead in Europe and also in Bulgaria, where you can still find equipment from those days.
In the recent 10-15 years many CPM machines have been installed in the Bulgarian wood, oil seed and animal feed industry

What solutions do you offer in the field of biomass and pellet production? What are the benefits of your machines, given that their load is usually high?
CPM is really specialized in the supply of grinders and pellet mills for the solid bio fuel industry. Main reason for being so popular in this industry is the “idiot proof” robust design and high efficiency due to our gearbox transmission.

What are the trends in granulation of alternative types of biomass?
For wood pellets the standards have been set and accepted by the market. Despite seasonal fluctuations there is a solid growth. Industrial use of other biomass pellets, such as sunflower or straw pellet is also steadily growing, as it is more or less the shortest route from the sun to stored energy. It is a nice shortcut to by-pass the fossil fuels.

In what other sectors do your clients work?
We supply our grinders, flakers and pelletizers to many different industries, just to name a few: Oil seed industry, Animal feed, Pet food, Alfalfa, Sugar industry, Waste densification, Coal dust, Wood, Manure.

Do you have customers in Bulgaria and who are your representatives here?
There are almost 40 CPM pellet mills in operation in Bulgaria. So it would be too much to list them all. In order to provide proper service and support, we are represented by a company from Sofia : Novonetics - Mr. Ognian Lumbev and Mr. Peter Petrov

What contacts do you hope to find in Bulgaria and the region?
As a high quality equipment manufacturer, we are mainly looking for customers with a medium or large scale industrial production or the intention to grow.
