First time еxhibitor Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe GmbH is looking to expand in the South-East European market
Interview with Mr. Cristian Athanasovici, Business development manager in KGE GmbH:
Dear Mr. Athanasovici, please tell give us some details about your company.
Kawasaki Gas Turbine Europe GmbH (KGE) is a 100% daughter company of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. Japan (KHI). KGE was established in Europe in 1998. In 1998 KGE started with sales, packaging and service of gas turbine generator sets having 10 employees. In 2003 KGE was relocated to Bad Homburg, in the vicinity of Frankfurt am Main, in 2013 KGE has extended its products range with gas engines and in 2018 it was established a Romanian Representative Office located in Bucharest. Today KGE has 67 employees.
KGE provides a complete and comprehensive range of products and services from one single source. KGE products are Gas Turbine Generator Set with a range of power from1700 kW to 30000 kW and Gas Engines of 5200 kW and 7800 kW. Beside products KGE offer a range of services as Planning and Engineering, Project Management, Implementation and Full Maintenance.
Which products will you present in Sofia? What are the advantages of these products compared to your competitors?
In Sofia we will present our range of products and services. KGE places importance on Efficient Energy Use, ECO-friendly and Reliable Product Care for Total Life Cycle and exemplify this as a philosophy of our products.
Green Gas Turbines, with high electrical efficiency, the M7-A03D is among the most efficient gas turbine in its power class and has the industry’s lowest level of NOx emissions, at 9 ppm.
Green Gas Engine has the best electrical efficiency of 49.5%, a flexible operation with a load range of 30 – 100 %, a high partial load efficiency (approximately 45% electrical efficiency at 50% load), minimum impact on environment (less than 200 ppm @ 0% O2 NOx emission).
Where do your products find application? Which industry sectors are they best suited for?
Our products find application in electricity production only application and cogeneration application. Our products fit very well the industrial sectors where it is requested steam, or / and hot water, or / and child water, where it is a direct drying process. As few examples, the industry sectors suited for our solutions are chemical, paper mill, rubber, refineries, food, district heating.
Could you set up a cogeneration facility that fits the customer’s requirements, and if so could you give us an example?
Yes, we can set up a cogeneration facility, but before we must establish very well the energy needs of the customer and to see the context in which we must integrate such cogeneration facility. As example I can mention the chemical sector, or paper mill, but we have many applications in many industrial sectors, including in district heating systems.
Would you tell us about some of the projects you have completed in the region of South-East Europe?
Up to now, in the South East Europe region part we completed few projects in Romania. The projects which are already in commercial operation are in industrial sector.
You will be participating for the first time at the EE & RES Exhibition. Visitors from which industry sectors would you like to see at your stand?
Yes, we are participating for the first time at the EE & RES Exhibition in Bulgaria. We would like to have in our booth visitors from ceramics, food, chemical, oil and gas, beverage, paper and carton production, district heating. In general, we would like to have visitors from all industrial sectors which need steam, hot water, heating, which have drying processes.
