Bulgarian patented burner for granulated fuel is a sustainable solution for a couple of problems

Dear Mr. Tomov, why did you decide to participate in seeSUSTAINtec?

Vasilev&Tomov LTD and the brand MPE – Machines for People and Environment are relatively new on the market. We believe, that by participating at seeSUSTAINtec we can meet a number of potential partners and clients. Moreover, this is probably the one and only exhibition in Bulgaria, dedicated to the sustainable energy technologies. We are sure that being part of seeSUSTAINtec will bring us closer to the market.

What solutions / novelties will you present?

We are going to present our patented burner for granulated fuel – MPE Bistra 40/70. This is a brand new technology and implementation, so we are very proud of its benefits:

Burns all kind of granulated fuels (pellets). The most important for us are the so-called agropellets like straw pellets, pellets from corn stems and other agricultural wastes;
Works with zero human maintenance;
This is a heavy duty product, built entirely with industrial grade components. It has a long life and high durability. We claim that this is the one and only product of its kind on the local market, that was built this way. This definitely positions the device on the market of Eco-friendly and sustainable solutions.

Tell us more about the benefits of implementing these solutions in practice and in which areas do they apply?

The burner Bistra 40/70 can be used in combination of all type biulers, steam generators, hot air blowers, furnaces, stoves, etc. It allows using extremely cheap and carbon-neutral fuels as straw pellets for example. It is a well known fact, that Eastern Europe is a great producer of all kinds of grain. The residual of this production - straw, corn stems, etc. is often treated as waste, and only a small part of it is utilized. We offer a sustainable solution that solves several problems at the same time:

Collecting the straw from the plants will lead to an increased profit for the agricultural business. The straw will become material for fuel, instead of being a waste product like until now;
With our solution we allow using a cheap and renewable fuel. It is a well known fact that wood is also treated as a renewable, but if we compare the time, needed for renewing straw and wood, the advantage of straw is obvious;
We offer an ecological and carbon-neutral energy solution. When burning, biomass releases exactly the same amount of carbon dioxide, that the plant has consumed from the air during its growth. We should mention, that even when biomass rots on the field, it also releases hydrocarbon gases, which in nature are transformed to carbon dioxide, with the respective energy release. But nobody uses the energy of this process.

Do you have any partners / clients in SE Europe? Can you mention some of them?

As long as we are relatively new on the market, we have partners only in Bulgaria. We hope that being part of seeSUSTAINtec, will help us find partners abroad.

What аre your future development plans?

We have plans for more intensive production processes, as well as developing wider nomenclature of burners with greater power ratings. We plan also the development of devices, allowing the usage of pellet burners not only in the domestic sector, but for different industrial areas – bread industry, powder coating, etc..

What do we need to change to achieve more sustainability?

We think the world has changed dramatically during the last few years. It requires more responsiveness from everyone of us. Maybe from now on, every developer should reconsider how the product was being developed, produced, used, what is its average life, and all this needs to be redone with respect to nature and the sustainability of the whole world. This is our brand and our slogan - MPE “Machines for People and Environment”, because this is important for us.
