EFESME and LIFT-REPORT - partners of LiftBalkans
The Institute for Energy Performance of Buildings Europe (BPIE) published in August 2012 a roadmap for the construction of the Buildings with almost Zero Energy Consumption (nZEB) for the countries of South-East Europe. The first principle is the reduction of the buildings energy load. The elevators are part of buildings and they can be included in the definition of nZEB because they consume 8-10% of the electricity.
In February, the Bulgarian Parliament accepted amendments to the Energy Efficiency Act, which foresee working out of a national plan for the increase of the number of nZEB and the country has a significant potential to cut the energy consumption levels and related carbon emissions in buildings.
LiftBalkans is the only specialized show in Bulgaria devoted to elevators, escalators, components and accessories, monitoring and safety systems, etc. It will make its premiere within the framework of the 9th South-East European Eco Forum & Exhibition (29-31 May 2013, Sofia).
LiftBalkans will be a meeting point between specialists and decision-makers from SE Europe, involved in the sectors of: lifts /elevators/escalators, investment, building, construction and architecture, facility management, state authorities, etc.
We have the pleasure to present you a part of our international partners.

What is EFESME?

EFESME was created in April 2005 in Belgium and draws together the European Federation of National Associations belonging to all branches of the lift sector. EFESME embodies a wider European initiative aiming to redefine the representation of Lift SMEs. Today, EFESME counts on 15 associations representing 13 EU Member States.
EFESME intends to provide European Institutions with technical and informative support offering a clear and comprehensive view about the manufacturing systems of lifts, including their normative implications. Furthermore, as a complementary institution to other organizations, EFESME’s focus is to effectively contribute to the creation of “a single voice” for the lift sector.
Our overriding activities are to define common initiatives between member organizations in order to promote national debates on European issues, to strengthen the dialogue with other European organizations from the lift or related sectors, in drafting political and technical shared positions for submission to European Institutions and also to maintain an information exchange framework encouraging a permanent dialogue and reflection amongst its members also with its technical secretariat structure.
Who can join EFESME? National SME Association from the European Economic Area which are legally established and preeminently operating in the lift sector or in related services (these are considered as full members), but also small and medium-sized lift enterprises from EU States where a national lift SME organization is not present or where the National Organization does not participate in EFESME’s initiatives (associate members).
