Dr. Jezdimir Knezevic, MIRCE Akademy, UK – key note speaker
Dr Jezdimir Knezevic is a world class researcher, educator and Entrepreneur with over 500 publications. Encouraged by the excellent response from industry to his research and educational activities, in 1988 Dr Knezevic established the Centre for Management of Industrial Reliability, Cost and Effectiveness (MIRCE), at Exeter University, UK. Under his leadership, the Centre has attracted over 3000 professional engineers and managers to training and educational Programmes generated an income over 3 million US dollars. In 1999 Dr Knezevic formulated the concept of MIRCE Science, the body of knowledge for prediction of the functionability performance of functionable systems type. Dr Knezevic regularly provides services to private and public sector organisations regarding their needs for managing in-service reliability, cost and effectiveness, for a given system structure, operational conditions, maintenance policies and support strategies, based on scientific understanding of the mechanisms of occurrences of in-service phenomena and actions defined by MIRCE Science.
Within the Program of the international Conference in Plovdiv, he will deliver a speech on Accidents Avoidance through Reliability + Maintenance = Functionability. The main objective of his presentation is to introduce reliability and maintenance professionals to MIRCE Science, a body of knowledge that enables quantitative prediction of the complex interactions between reliability and maintenance issues on in-service performance of industrial facilities and buildings to be done. Hence, by making use of MIRCE Functionability Equation it is possible to perform analytical trade-off between feasible reliability methods and maintenance policies to select the compromising solution that will maximise non-accident operation for a given budget regarding industrial facilities and buildings.
