Didier Coulomb is the Director General of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIF/IIR) – the foremost global organisation serving as the principal hub and “treasurer” of knowledge in refrigeration and related areas. A graduate of three French universities (Ecole Polytechnique de Paris; Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural, Eaux et des Forêts; and Institut des Stratégies Industrielles) with substantial experience as a ministerial officer (e.g. Deputy Director for Innovation and Technology Development in the Ministry of Research), Senior Executive Engineer in the French Civil Service Corps. and Full Member of the International Academy of Refrigeration. His professional career addresses the sustainable development and relevant cooling and refrigeration technologies all over the world, with a particular focus on Energy, Environment, Industrial Growth, Food and Health. Didier’s recent activities include his leader’s role in the IIF/IIR as a renowned worldwide intergovernmental establishment, conference organisations, communication with United Nations’ bodies, publications in the field of refrigeration science and technology, building and coordination of refrigeration-related research, development and innovation networks, leadership of international fora on climate change issues, etc.
