Maialen Perez Fernandez de Retana




Consultant at Technopolis Group, WATIFY Campaign

Maialen Perez is a consultant based at the Brussels office of Technopolis Group. She has developed expertise in public policy evaluation with a particular interest in urban and regional development policy, as well as, innovation policies. She has applied successfully a range of methods such, interviews, surveys, case studies, desk research, literature reviews, statistical analysis and benchmarking studies.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Maialen worked for the Delegation of the Basque Country to the European Union in Brussels. During this time, she was involved with the European policies on International Trade, Research and Development, Innovation, Economy and Industry. She collaborated with different international networks in which the Basque Country was a member such as the Vanguard Initiative. Previously Maialen worked at different banking and finance institutions and completed an internship at an accountancy firm.

Maialen obtained her undergraduate diploma in Business Administration from the University of the Basque Country, she studied for a year at the Hochschule fur Wirstchaf und Recht in Berlin as part of the Erasmus Programme. She has an MBA in Business Administration and Advanced Research from Mondragon Unibertsitatea and a postgraduate degree in Internationalization of Business from the University of the Basque Country.

She is a native speaker of Spanish and Basque, is fluent in English, is learning French and has some knowledge of German.

She speaks fluently English, Italian (mother tongue) and Spanish, and she has a very good knowledge of French.
 


 

The Watify Campaign for the modernisation of European industry. Opportunities of involvement for unmanned cargo aircraft institutional and business players.

The presentation will introduce the Watify Campaign for industrial modernization run by the European Commission. It will review and explain the main activities run by the campaign (the success stories, the matchmaking events, the awareness events) and suggest different ways to get involved for both institutional and business players. It will also explain and introduce the website, so the participants can get involved more easily. The presentation will cover also a success story of a company that has applied any KET technology and has changed the way of making business in the field of Smart Cities.  There will be time for questions from the participants too.
