Smart Cities in Romania

The presentation will introduce the Smart City challenges and opportunities in Romania, as well as a smart city overall view. Where we are, where we are heading to. The presentation will be built around the regional approach and the similarities in terms of challenges and solutions. As the leader Smart Cities Development in Romania, The Romanian Smart City and Mobility Association has developed functional relationships with all the factors involved to developing sustainable smart cities including but not limiting to public authorities, civil society, academic environment, private sector. Common desiderates and collective actions.

An important part of the RSCMA mission is to identify and develop sustainable models of development and to find balance of potential risks versus benefits for replicable smart cities models.

The presentation will introduce the particularities as part of community changes, data collection as valuable information for city municipalities, cultivating a cross-collaborative culture, innovative new business, economic and social models and also financing solutions.

The presentation will cover also a case study of Alba Iulia Smart City, which we studied from the legislative initiative to the statute of today where it is the first smart city of Romania. From governmental initiative to smart city.
