Interview with Mr. John Lagogiannis, Intracom Telecom, Greece

What is your company activity and who are your target clients?

Intracom Telecom is a global telecommunication systems vendor with over 35 years of experience in the telecom market. We have a strong regional presence throughout EMEA with operations in Europe, the Middle East & Africa, Russia, the CIS and Asia-Pacific and export to over 70 countries.
Entering the Smart Cities era, we invest in intelligent smart city solutions that contribute to energy savings, while also building a future-proof open platform for revenue-generating applications and services to the citizens.

What will be the focus and priorities of your presentation within the forthcoming SEE Smart Cities Conference?

We will present our concept for Smart Cities – it offers superior quality-of-life standards to both citizens and visitors by leveraging digital technologies to manage city resources in the most efficient and effective way. We will focus on systems that enable:

  • Smart parking
  • Smart lighting
  • Waste management
  • Info2Go services
  • Public Wi-Fi
  • Noise monitoring
  • Analytics
  • Traffic and people counting

Please indicate some examples of already implemented solutions by your company.
Intracom Telecom has developed an innovative complete platform that appeals to municipalities, cities, gated communities and large complexes who share the vision of a Smarter Connected Society and want their infrastructure to interact with people, while having full control of their infrastructure status and monitor, in real-time, the quality and development of the offered services.

This platform is beyond simply lighting, combining, all in one, universal efficient LED electronic, sensors, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and multi-processor intelligence. Intracom Telecom's connected infrastructure as a service (IaaS) includes a multiservice gateway that may be connected to Intracom Telecom's cloud, certified to ISO 27001:2013 information security standard. The digital infrastructure includes all necessary portals and mobile apps. The remote control and maintenance capability ensures low cost and instant responsive operation. The integrated and remote adjustable LED driver enables the combination of DC LED components from any supplier and their easy replacement as soon as such technologies evolve, using the existing infrastructure. Such connected infrastructure and applications provide a rich set of dashboards and operational reports, offering rich insights over the end-to-end operation of the Smart City.

In 2016 we received the Gold Award in the Smart Lighting category at the Best City Awards, organized by Boussias Communications, for implementing a Smart City pilot project in the Municipality of Ilioupoli in Attica, Greece.
We have also applied Smart City projects in Germany (Berlin and Dusseldorf), India (Bangalore) and The Czech Republic (Prague).
