Interview with Mrs. Vesela Kalacheva, member of the board of directors and CEO of BAIT, on the collaboration between the Association and seeSUSTAINtec 2020

Mrs. Kalacheva, the co-operation between BAIT and Smart Cities (part of the new brand seeSUSTAINtec) dates back almost to the founding of the event. How would you evaluate the exhibition and its parallel conference part?

For our members Smart Cities is a business platform for digital and intelligent solutions, a place to popularize innovations and know-how, for interaction between leading producers, clients, distributors and municipality representatives. Taking into account that our members come from all segments of the ICT industry, I consider the event a useful channel in their marketing communication.

Please present the main priorities and activities of BAIT.

Founded in 1995 to protect the interests of its members, BAIT works on topics that are important to them and to the ICT industry as a whole. Among our main priorities at the moment are the training of industry specialists, e-government and Industry 4.0.

What is the market share of the members of BAIT?

104 companies are direct members of BAIT. They employ 16 600 ICT specialists and generate 4.35 billion levs annually (4% of the country’s GDP). The companies cover the entire ICT spectrum – software, hardware, telecommunications, system integration, fintech and Internet of Things. BAIT is a member of the European IT association – Digital Europe.
