Energy Community of South East Europe adopts a regional energy strategy

Serbia's Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Zorana Mihajlovic said that the members of the Energy Community of South East Europe adopted a regional energy strategy.
Mihajlovic explained that the framework of the energy strategy has been adopted, and added that all suggestions to improve this document are welcome. She pointed out that the conference participants adopted the decision about the application of the directive on statistics in energy, oil and oil products and increasing the share of renewable energy sources.
The Minister said that Serbia will have to increase the share of renewable energy in total energy consumption from 21.2% to 27% by 2020. She added that she also had bilateral meetings with the relevant ministers of Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and that they agreed to intensify relations because energy cooperation between states is very important. Mihajlovic also said that Serbia will chair the Energy Community of South East Europe in 2013.
Members of the Energy Community of South East Europe are Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, Ukraine and the EU.
