ELCA, the European Lift & Lift Component Association, was founded in 1998 and is based in Brussels. It is a European Economic Interest Group (EEIG) established under Belgian Law.

ELCA is open to all lifts and lifts components manufacturers in Europe. The role of the association is to represent, develop and protect its members' common interest as European passenger and goods lifts and lifts components manufacturers.

It is particularly focused on safeguarding the interests of the micro, small and medium-size (SMEs) lift companies in the manufacturing, installation, maintaining and repair of lifts.

The members are individual companies, but the association also welcomes other associations with the same broad goals as “Associated associations”.
