Opening of HOLCIM new waste-to-energy installation
Representatives of Via Expo company, as a member of the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, attended the launching of the new waste-to-energy installation worth 6.5 million Еuro of Holcim (Bulgaria) in its Beli Izvor cement plant, Vratsa region. The whole investment of the project amounts to 6,5 million Euro. 26% of the investment costs were covered by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the EU-funded Operational Programme Competitiveness.
The new installation for sorted household waste will increase the volume of recovered combustible waste by more than 35,000 tonnes per year. The main supplier of sorted waste are the sorting installations of Sofia Municipality.
It is expected in the future, waste from the neighboring municipalities to be accepted in the plant, reported by Holcim.
