DRIED CALIBRATED WOOD CHIPS - the new cheap substitute for pellets
The production of dry wood chips of Advance-Spas Kostadinov Ltd. is carried out on an innovative technology without analogue, both in Bulgaria and in Europe.
At the factory, logs are cut at very low revolutions (74 rpm) with an industrial screw chopper that does not crush the natural joints of the wood, but only cuts it across the strands of the natural growth of the tree. There are two types of chopping with chopper and hammer crushers at very low revolutions, which break the wood to reach 85% homogeneity of chips, thus avoiding the need for screening. With the subsequent drying in a highly efficient fluidized bed dryer, high combustion characteristics of 4050 kkal / kg equivalent to 4710 kwh per kilogram of coniferous wood fuel at 10% moisture are achieved. The technology allows the processing of both coniferous and broad-leaved wood.
The production costs of the company's chips are significantly lower than those of wood pellets. This leads to up to 35% at low prices of dry calibrated wood chips compared to wood pellets.
Another very important advantage of dry wood chips in relation to pellets is that in time the chips are not destroyed by humidification by moisture in the atmosphere as it retains the natural connections of the wood as opposed to the pellets which, when humid air breaks down.
The only visible flaw in the chips is two and a half to three times the larger unit weight compared to the pellets, and the need for a larger screw auger diameter to fuel the combustion chamber.
Except for fuel, the highly homogeneous wood chip production but the company is an excellent tool for landscaping gardens, parks, alleys and pots. Coniferous chips successfully protect the growth of weeds and retain moisture in the soil of pots and gardens.
The dry calibrated beech and oak chips of the company are an excellent tool for smoking meat and meat products.
